Service fee: 10 SUI (plus network gas).
Estimated network cost: ≈ 0.025 SUI. Keep at least 10.05 SUI in your wallet to deploy.
Sui needs two wallet approvals: 1) publish the coin and pay the service fee, 2) register its metadata in the Sui Coin Registry (network gas only).

Understanding the Sui Coin standard

On Sui every coin is its own Move type, defined by a small published package. Our creator publishes that package from a reviewed template, registers the coin in the Sui Coin Registry — the currency standard that wallets and explorers read — and sends the entire initial supply to your wallet. Gas is paid in SUI.

Optional token features

  • Fixed or mintable supply — keep the TreasuryCap to mint later, or lock the supply forever in the Coin Registry.
  • Editable or frozen metadata — keep the MetadataCap to update the name, description and icon, or delete it for good.
  • Immutable package — the coin's code can never be upgraded, so holders know its rules are final.
  • Icon hosting — upload a PNG, JPG or WEBP and it is pinned to IPFS and written into the coin's metadata.

How to create a token on Sui

  1. Connect a Sui wallet such as Slush, Suiet or Phantom.
  2. Enter the coin name, symbol, decimals and total supply, and upload an icon.
  3. Choose whether to keep mint rights and metadata update rights.
  4. Approve two transactions — publishing the coin (with the service fee) and registering its metadata. The full supply arrives in your wallet.

Why create a token on Sui?

Sui confirms transactions in under a second with low, predictable fees, and its object model makes coins cheap to hold and transfer. A Sui coin works in every Sui wallet and on DEXes such as Cetus, Turbos and Bluefin, so you can add liquidity right after launch.

Sui token creation FAQ

How much does it cost to create a Sui coin?

A service fee of 10 SUI plus about 0.02–0.04 SUI of network gas for publishing and registering the coin. The publish transaction is simulated on the live network before your wallet asks you to sign.

Why does Sui ask for two transactions?

The first publishes the coin package and mints the supply; the second moves its metadata into the shared Sui Coin Registry. Until the second one runs, wallets can't show the coin's name and icon — you can finish it later from this page.

Can I add liquidity or list the coin?

Yes. It is a standard Sui coin type (package::module::SYMBOL) that any Sui DEX, wallet or exchange can use.
