Understanding the Jetton standard

A jetton is TON's fungible token standard (TEP-74): a minter contract holds the metadata and total supply, and every holder gets a personal jetton wallet contract. We deploy the standard Jetton 2 minter that minter.ton.org uses, write the metadata on-chain (TEP-64) and mint the whole supply to your wallet in the same request. Fees are paid in TON.

Optional token features

  • Fixed supply — the admin is dropped right after minting, so nobody can mint more, change the metadata or upgrade the contract.
  • Mintable — keep the admin to mint more later, update the metadata or hand admin rights to another wallet.
  • On-chain metadata — name, symbol, description, decimals and icon live in the minter itself, with no off-chain file to keep online.
  • Sharded jetton wallets — holder wallets are deployed in their owner's shard for faster, cheaper transfers.

How to create a token on TON

  1. Connect Tonkeeper, MyTonWallet, Telegram Wallet or another TON Connect wallet.
  2. Enter the jetton name, symbol, decimals and total supply, and upload an icon.
  3. Decide whether to keep admin rights (mintable) or revoke them (fixed supply).
  4. Approve one transaction — the minter is deployed and the full supply lands in your wallet.

TON is built into Telegram, so a jetton can reach hundreds of millions of users through Telegram Wallet and mini apps. Jettons work in every TON wallet and on DEXes like STON.fi and DeDust, where you can create a pool as soon as the token exists.

How much does it cost to create a jetton?

A service fee of 8 TON plus about 0.06 TON of network fees. The request is emulated against the live network before your wallet asks you to sign it.

What does revoking admin mean?

With admin revoked, the jetton's supply, metadata and code are fixed forever — what traders look for in a safe token. With admin kept, your wallet can mint more and edit the metadata later.

Can I add liquidity or list the jetton?

Yes. It is a standard TEP-74 jetton that STON.fi, DeDust, wallets and exchanges recognise automatically.
